Our client is a well known construction company on the island of Sint Maarten. They specialize in Infrastructure including civil works, Design & Build, General Construction, Harbour & Marine construction, Maintenance & Management and the production of asphalt.


  • Taking improvement measures when performance lags in terms of time and quality.
  • Within the framework of the assignment/work budget, determine the deployment of personnel, resources (materials and equipment) and the working methods to be used. 
  • Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and plans and the use of personal protective equipment.
  • Identifying and starting up more/less work procedures. 
  • Achieving financial results in accordance with existing work budget and planning.
  • Is accountable to the Project Manager.
  • Manages biweekly employees up to and including ass. supervisors and subcontracted employees.


  • Consult with and correctly inform the Project Manager.
  • Instructing and supervising all employees, subcontractors and suppliers entrusted to his care.
  • Inform the Project Manager in a timely manner when it is not possible to work according to plan.
  • Authorized to issue receipts in accordance with internal rules and up to an agreed maximum.
  • Call-up materials and equipment.
  • Give solicited and unsolicited advice to Project team.


  • Properly guiding the works in terms of quality, costs and time.
  • Ensuring optimal use of materials, personnel and equipment.
  • Maintaining a good working relationship with the management body.
  • Daily management of one or more works with the associated activities.
  • Gain knowledge of the work budget and the necessary specifications data for the execution work.
  • Taking measures for optimal working conditions.
  • Monitoring project progress by using administrative and financial data.
  • Reporting to clients of more/less work.
  • Propagating the company vision, mission and core values to staff, subcontractors and customers.
  • Timely checking and handing in the issued receipts and timesheets for projects.
  • Control of the progress of work.
  • Recording of various matters relating to implementation.
  • Conducting administration (such as stock management, timesheet registration) and timely delivery of the
  • data.
  • Drawing up work planning in collaboration with Project team.

Kennis en vaardigheden

  • Relevant education at MBO level (preferably MTS Civil Engineering) or equivalent work/thinking level.
  • 5-10 years of execution experience.
  • Leadership qualities and team spirit.
  • Knowledge of work preparation is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of various software packages including MS WORD and MS EXCEL and preferably MS
  • Project.
  • Knowledge of Metacom (reading budgets) is an advantage.
  • Have clear involvement and insight into the execution of civil works.
  • Command of English and Dutch. Spanish is an advantage.
