Purchasing Officer

Job summary:
The Purchase Officer is responsible for the procurement of products and services that are essential for the daily operations. The Purchase Officer ensures optimal and effective execution of procurement of goods and products, cost effectiveness, quality and stock control. Arranges negotiation for cost effective deals with suppliers, keeps structural contact with requestors and gives advice about quotations/ bids. The Purchase Officer is a member of the Purchasing Evaluation Committee (PEC) and reports directly to the Head Purchasing.

Responsibilities:

• Manages tendering processes to ensure compliance with policy, procedures, rules & regulations. valuates proposals and prepares summary comparison reports (e.g. costs reports). 
• Plans and executes internal meetings promoting teamwork and efficient purchase decisions.
• Ensures that the purchasing procedures meet company’s legal requirements. 
• Conducts Purchase Evaluation Committee meetings and produces corresponding reports. 
• Liaises between internal and external parties, local and international suppliers, manufacturers and all relevant stakeholders requiring products and services.
• Negotiates pricing and contract terms of agreement within scope of authority.
• Track purchase orders and ensures timely delivery.
• Researches and evaluates potential vendors.
