Our client is is a regional supplier of fuel products and services, with a strong foothold in the Southern Caribbean region. In the daily operations, they are responsible for the commercialization and distribution of fuel products on the islands of Curacao, Bonaire and offshore Aruba.
To strengthen the Strategy & Risk Management Department, we are searching for a suitable candidate for the position of Business Developer - renewable energy to help the company shape the "organisation of the future".
Job Summary:
The Business Developer explores, creates, and designs new business opportunities in the energy-related markets to generate continuous revenues for the Group. The Business Developer works in a team of business developers and reports directly to the Chief Strategy & Risk Officer.
Responsibilities:
- Identify bright ideas for new market and business opportunities in the renewable energy segment and make them a reality.
- Understand (potential) clients' needs and translate these into
- effective solutions that result in profitable business.
- Understand commercial, technical, and logistical aspects of renewable energy opportunities.
- Create, develop, and present business cases for new business, investments, and partnerships.
- Structure and participate in negotiations and closing of deals/ transactions (e.g., strategic partnerships, joint ventures). All in close collaboration with supporting teams in commercial, operations, finance, legal and risk management.
- Build and maintain relationships with (key) internal and external stakeholders including clients.
- Liaise with the teams in various departments and stakeholders and translate market research into actionable business strategies.
- Master's degree in industrial engineering, Business Management, Business Administration, or equivalent education.
- At least 5 years of experience as business developer, project manager or similar role.
- Experience in the (renewable) energy industry is pre.
- Strong strategic and commercial mindset.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Excellent organizational, strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
- Fluent in languages Dutch and English is a must. Spanish and Papiamentu a pre.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- Decisive management and strong stakeholder management skills to develop and capitalize on profitable business opportunities for the long-term.
- Ability to drive change and be action-oriented and willing to put in more effort when setbacks are encountered.
- International experience and mindset are considered a plus.
