Job Summary:

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of the hotel's maintenance operations to ensure the safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of the property. This role involves managing a team of maintenance staff, implementing preventive maintenance programs, and coordinating repairs and renovations as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership:

  • Supervise and lead a team of maintenance technicians, assigning tasks and ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Provide training, guidance, and support to maintenance staff to enhance their skills and productivity.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and address any performance issues in a timely manner.

Maintenance Operations:

  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime and extend the lifespan of assets.
  • Coordinate routine inspections of the property to identify maintenance needs and address them proactively.
  • Oversee the maintenance of HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and other hotel facilities to ensure compliance with safety regulations and guest satisfaction.
  • Manage the inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels at all times.

Repair and Renovation:

  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors for repairs, upgrades, and renovations as needed.
  • Oversee the scheduling and execution of maintenance projects, ensuring minimal disruption to hotel operations.
  • Monitor the progress of repair and renovation projects, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to budget and timelines.

Health and Safety Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and standards in all maintenance activities.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and implement corrective actions to mitigate hazards.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and safety documentation.

Budget Management:

  • Assist in the development of the annual maintenance budget and manage expenses within budgetary constraints.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement measures to optimize maintenance operations without compromising quality or safety.

Kennis en vaardigheden

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in maintenance management, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with staff, guests, and external contractors.
  • Solid understanding of building systems and maintenance best practices.
  • Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and other relevant software.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and standards.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
